Hey everyone: We've moved our site to a new server. So what does this mean for you? Well... nothing. It's just an interesting bit of trivia. Strike that; an UNinteresting bit of trivia.
We're back in Utsunomiya after our whirlwind tour of the US. We got to spend 10 days in Minneapolis (2 days in Chicago for the Wizard World Comic Convention for me), and 10 days in New Hampshire. I would have to say it was possibly the most fun I have ever had on a vacation, which is kind of strange, because it was just going places and seeing people that I used to go to and see every day until a year ago. We got to see the glory that is Target, the majesty that is Cub Foods, and the unthinkable bliss that is Chipotle Mexican Grill. And you really don't realize how much you miss your close friends until you don't see them for a year. It was like finally breathing again after holding our breath for way too long. Well, anyway, we saw 'em, checked that off our list, and now we're back in Japan.
In New Hampshire, Julie and I went to my parents' new farmhouse that they renovated and made beautiful, way out in the middle of nowhere, up on a hill where something like 8 out of 14 houses belong to some permutation of Cannon cousin/second cousin/great aunt. We got to drive the 3-speed 1945 Willy's jeep around and lose a pint of blood to mosquitos, and it was so nice that everyone there spoke English. I didn't have to speak Japanese once!
Over the course of last year, we went to Kyoto, and Nikko, and Tokyo, but the best vacation by far was going back home. So for all of you at home, rejoice! You're having the best vacation ever!
