Well, we had a wonderful time in Hong Kong. Always the budget travelers, we reserved a room with the city's YMCA. While their website made it look pretty good, I was bracing myself for bunk beds...BUT the little room that we'd reserved was somehow already taken, and they gave us The Executive Suite. We had a beautiful view of the harbor AND a king-sized bed. One of our highlights was riding on the world's longest covered people mover. It's not really meant for tourists, but instead for the locals to get up the side of the mountain. It's really wonderful to see where real people hang their real laundry.

Yep, 'tis the season. We had two little ones last night, and two big ones this morning. One of the big ones was really big. Freak me out.

6.23.2004 Last night we went to see Troy at the new Toho Theater near our apartment. I really liked the movie, although I could have used less blood and guts and lots more love. Brad Pitt totally needs to do something with his hair.

6.22.2004 Well, it's been a while, huh? We're still living happily in Japan, although we're becoming increasingly aware of how gloriously soon we'll be coming home. Besides saying a proper goodbye (but-hopefully-see-you-later)to so many dear ones here, we'll also be visiting Hong Kong next weekend, and climbing Mt. Fuji the weekend after that! Yeah, it'll be a hard climb, and we'll get plenty dirty up there, but it just needs to happen anyway. Besides, my friend Mrs. Matsumoto told me that we can bring cardboard boxes and sled our way back down. Soon after that, we'll be flying back on July 21st. First stop is San Diego for THE comic convention with Shad and Anna. Admittedly, I don't think Anna and I will spend much time at the convention. I'm most looking forward to Coronado sand in my bikini, a little thrift store exploring, Tijuana and fish tacos washed down with pitchers of icy cold margaritas. From San Diego we'll go to Colorado to spend time with Zander's family, and FINALLY get to meet Becca's man, Joe. After Colorado, we'll drive to Nebraska and meet up with my family. I haven't been in my Grandma's house for so long, AND it's one of my favorite places ever (secret passage ways...chocolate chip cookies...ahhh). We should be up in Minnesota around August 5th.

Last night the much anticipated typhoon from Okinawa hit Utsunomiya. It was awesome. The wind was really warm and was going approximately 8 bajillion mph.
